Biggest problem facing me was that of space, with a 17x8 garage, an 18ft long slipper was always going to be a challenge!!. Fortunately, some spare land behind the garage allowed a temporary extension of sorts to be put up, giving me about 25ft overall. As can be seen from the shape, though, the stem will have to be at the far end…
 

Devlin also recommends “at least 3ft on either side to work comfortably”. Again, a 4ft6 boat in 8ft width doesn’t allow for this, so first, I had to level the floor...

 
then extend the back of the garage....
 
 
before I was ready for the arrival of the wood,  which coincides (almost) with finishing garage setup...
 
 
and the construction of a trolley on wheels to allow access to all sides of the boat as required.
