Goals for August - Floor timbers, BH tops & deck stringers glued in place, limber holes cut, bilge fully epoxy sealed (& maybe painted, but not sure that will be necessary)

After drilling the limber holes in each BH, I have ended up sanding the interior of the hull ready for the floor timbers to be glued in place after a final sealng coat of epoxy all round.

Up to c. 46kg epoxy used so far, and it looks like I'm gonna need even more! Guess I'll have to order enough for the canoe project as well ;-)
Anyway: Engine mounting BH expanded slightly,

and sanding done aft of the rear engine well BH, with the first sections coated with a final epoxy coat before I gave up for the night.

then final coating a couple of days later

Before moving on to gluing the BH tops & fitting the deck stringers:

Starting with the centre BH to define the width of the hatch opening at 546mm around the arc of the curve

Final epoxy sealing coat on below the floor level, and deck stringers in place. Unfortunately, the planning department didn't order enough Doug Fir to complete the framing inside the boat, so I've had to step in & get ready to order all the rest, including more utile & iroko, plus cedar for the canoe project.

This meant a little bit of (cardboard for now) template creation:

allowing me to figure out what the next wood pick list is going to look like - I've already got some of the deck woods from the first delivery:

I managed to get the first coat of bilge paint (White for now) on before the end of the month:
