Design: 
Be VERY careful about where the centre of balance ends up, even if it looks fine in a model. I've been playing with my action men again, and it looks like I may have the CB a bit too far bac. It's not a showstopper, but if the model is representative, then I'll need to put more ballast towards the rear than I would have liked, unless I move the passenger compartment back another 6-8 inches to compensate.  
 
I'll be thinking about this when we go for an engine trial in December09/Jan10
 
Cost effectiveness:
Buy enough epoxy to start with...I've paid about £250 more than I needed to by buying smaller quantities, although I was intending to try different brands, I ended up using just MAS.
 
Painting:
On such a small boat, the fore/aft balance is likely to vary considerably with the addition of 2 rear passengers, so I like the idea of the sloping waterline seen on "Greyhound". It should also add a faster, sleeker appearance to the slightly loftier forward section.
