Using design software, being a total novice, and just wanting to play all consired towards the building of the model. The largest driver, though, was the need to check that, carburation aside, an inboard mounted outboard engine could be used to drive the boat with no adverse effect on steerage, looks, etc.

Cue ebay for an 3v electric outboard of about the right scale for the princely sum of £8, and a few bits of ply from Mantua models.

The scale down facility on the Carlson Design software proves perfect, resulting in....

OK, so she's a little loftier than "Temple Maiden" in order to accommodate the powerplant, resulting in, as Greg pointed out, similar lines to the Selway 22' design. However, the screen will be nearly 2/5 of the way down the boat which lends a more elongated air.

The model also showed up the tendency for the decks to visually dip towards the stem, although it was in theory level from cockpit to stem. Slight revisions  (raising the peak of the stem by an inch) before lofting the real thing should cure that issue.

Note the bow wave: I reckon the flow rate of the stream was around 2 kts, meaning scale adjustments show the model travelling at XS 10kts, so wake should be no problem at all.
